Why is it that people who are in true recovery from alcohol and drug addiction seem to be some of the best examples of how to live life the right way?

About This Blog

I believe that people in a healthy recovery are great examples of how to live a good life, because many of the life issues and aspects of the human condition that these types of people are forced to confront are struggles that everyone living is also facing to some degree. Because many may never have symptoms from these struggles that develop into major life crisis’s, they go through life unaware, and untreated. Many miss out on ways of living that can offer a much deeper level of personal fulfillment, joy, and serenity.

Many ideas that will be contained in my posts, began as knowledge, suggestions, and advice taken from multiple outside sources. In particular, the Alcoholics Anonymous big book was a major source of insight for me because of my troubles with alcohol and drug abuse. I believe that reading it could be helpful to anyone trying to improve their lives, not just alcoholics.

Please understand that even though many of my posts have a basis on established sources, the ideas, opinions, and especially advice offered here are based solely on my own personal experience. Take what you can from them, but always remember that my experiences may not precisely relate to your own closely enough to give the same results. I strongly recommend reading the AA or NA big book before beginning any major courses of action in regards to alcohol/drug recovery.
